The inmense canyon walls are lush with plants in abundant cascade that decorate and at the same time is the course of one of mexico´s more plentiful river.

These are some of the elements that shape one of the more impressive landscapes of this country. El cañon del sumidero is located in the state of Chiapas and made from the years of the flow of the river Grijalva, The characteristic of the scenery let that in middle of it has developed a natural variety very abundant and different. For that is decree by federal goverment as National Park.

Among the principal characteristic of this site we can say that the plants are various and change with the altitude in our location. Like this look as dround deep in the canyon,we can find “Bromelias”  ,if we look up we can observe many pines and oaks in the top, for the steep slope there is less sunligth  and more humidity , because  in this area there are, medium and high forest where you can find “ceibas”, “orejones”, “ocotes”, and “ramones”, and around to cold water spring, stream, little waterfalls, are found plantas wich need water but little. Soil and in these species we can mention the “begonias”, “fern” and “moss”.

I need to suggest that this vegetation is the habitat and one of the last safe refuger for species in eminent danger of extintion, like “ the ocofaisan”, “el monoaraña”, and “the cocodrilo de río”, as especies in danger of extinction as “el jaguarondi”, “el ocelote”, “el tepexcuintle”,”el venado cola blanca”, “el venado temazate”, “el oso hormiguero”  y ”el zopilote”.

We can find something manifestation of the hand of man, the most important hidroelectric power station, a project of hidroelectric engineering that have México, with a reservoir from 32 km and cover all the canyon.
